10/03/2007: "Message from Lion President Frank"

Fellow Lions,

A few items:

1.) Please email me any hours of community service work that you have done and not put on our attendance sheet. This can be volunteer work of any kind for any organization. Our Lion's Club gets to log credit for those hours. We will ask for these hours on a monthly basis.

2.) We are in need of a volunteer to wear a Chicken suit for two brief times during the Oktoberfest festivities. Please email Derek Rouse, at: dandpr@interisland.net for details.

3.) We also have a letter from Camp Horizon. They are doing a new fundraising raffle that will happen 4 times a year. It is a Zone raffle that will give members of our Zone a chance to explore and learn about leisure facilities within our District's Club's home areas. For example, the first raffle is being done by Orcas Lions Club. They are offering a two night stay at Rosario Resort & Spa and dinner one evening. Camp Horizon takes care of all the printing, mailing etc. If you want to encourage a place on our island to have a future raffle, let us know.

If you would like to buy some raffle tickets, they are five dollars each, or 3 for ten dollars. Curt and I have tickets.

A big thank you to Wilma Bailey for stepping up to help with Big John's attendance job and Pat Ball's Kings receipts job.
