Regarding Hosting German Students in Homes...

This message is from my daughter, Wendy, who works for AYUSA in
Berlin and is trying to help place some German kids in homes in our country
for the summer on a student exchange program. Please let the people at
Lions know about the opportunity to host a German kid in their home. It is a
worthwhile experience and culturally enhancing for both the German kid and
the American family as well. I might consider it but for the problem of my
upcoming surgery and further disability resulting from it. Maybe someone
you know might be interested in participating?

Thanks.

Bill Waxman

Hi everybody,

Although I no longer directly work with our German
participants headed to the States, our entire team
here in Berlin is quite busy taking calls from German
teenagers still waiting for their American host family
placement for the upcoming school year. They are all
due to fly out in August, and I will actually be
escorting the first group to fly to New York on August
1st.

I wanted to just drop you a quick note and ask you to
pass this information along to anyone you know who
might be interested in opening up their home and
family life to someone from a different culture. Even
if you don't have the ability (I know that I wouldn't
at the moment either!) to take someone in, perhaps you
have colleagues or family members who would like to
host a German teenager for a semester or an academic
year.

You can find more information at the following
website: http://www.ayusa.org/host_families/hf_main.
It would be great if you could just forward this
message to anyone in your e-mail address book who
might be interested.

Thanks so much for your support!

Warmest Regards from sunny Berlin,

Wendy
